It's a blessing to be a part of the MCES family. I graduated from Austin Peay State University with Honors and a degree in K-8 Interdisciplinary Studies: Elementary Education. I am Highly Qualified (NCLB) and certified in Tennessee for K-8. I have taught in this district for 16 years. 2010-2011 Distinguished Classroom Teacher Cumberland Heights Elementary. 2013-14 Distinguished Classroom Teacher Northeast Elementary. 2018-19 Distinguished Educator Montgomery Central Elementary. I LOVE teaching science, have two beautiful children, love Marvel and coffee, and keep honeybees! I cannot wait for a wonderful year of STEM projects (rotten pumpkin water cycles, blubber gloves and electricity) and learning how to multiply with you!

  1. Treat people right on the inside and outside.
  2. Protect our learning time.

I try to tell the students that we have about 2 hours to learn EXACTLY what we need to learn for class. If we finish early, we'll have time for the EXTRA stuff. We have to be careful not to be distracted first by all of the extra stuff that we run out of time for the important things needed to be learned by the end of third grade.
